Lazer Tag, Skating and Beer: Lexington KY
My name is Boozemonster and I review places and activities that I do and include them on the site as long as they involve beer or booze in any for. So I know you're all anxiously awaiting this new and fun activitiy with bated breath.
Last night, being a Thursday, a troop of us headed to Champs Skating Rink. Champs has been a fixture of Lexington KY for decades and decades, however Champs is enjoying a new larger, new, cooler facility off of Wellington Way. It resides next to Meijers off of Nicholasville Rd, for those of you who might not know the road.
What makes Thursdays so important? Well it is unlimited skating, Lazer Tag and pizza from 5 to 9pm for $12 + a $2.50 skate rental if you need skates.
Was it fun and worth the money? Would you suggest it to someone who isn't 12 years old? What was the crowd like? Tell me, Tell me please!!!!! It was fun, and no I'm not 12 years old. Is it a good deal? Absolutely, lazer tag alone runs $8 bux a game on weekends. Was the pizza decent? Absolutely, and what a variety! They had really good barbeque chicken pizza, a cheezeburger pizza with fries on it, and a few other interesting concotions that were rather tastey. All in all the lazer tag and pizza make it a definite go, but the skating rink was fun as well. My group skated for about an hour and the rest of the time was spent playing lazer tag.
The lazer tag arena was very large, had an aztec/mayan temple feel and was chock full of black lights, smoke, and nooks to hide in, not to mention loads of little kids to tag.
If you've stayed with me so far, what about the beers, right?! Well Champs does have a little lounge for the older kids as well as the adults that might be a little stressed. Their drink prices are as follows: Champs 2.75 bud lt draft 3.50 bottles .... Not exactly the cheapest beer in town, but still a welcome potential nonetheless.
So if you're looking for something fun and economical that will bring out the pre-drunk in you for a Thursday night in Lex, Champs is a possibility that I'll definitely be checking out again.
Oh yeah, and F' some ice blizzard and not having electricity.
